Client Spotlight: How Ken Built Discipline, Dropped Body Fat & Transformed His Training

There’s something powerful about hearing directly from someone who’s walked the path — someone who’s faced the same frustrations, made the decision to invest in change, and put the work in.
Ken joined my Nutrition Coaching Programme with a clear goal: get lean, get strong, and stop second-guessing his nutrition. He was already training consistently but knew that without dialling in his diet, he’d hit a wall. And he had.
Here’s a glimpse into his journey — what held him back, what changed, and what he’s achieved.
What made you reach out for support?
“I’d started training more seriously and realised that if I wanted to actually get strong and lean, my nutrition had to level up too.”
Ken came from a background of intermittent fasting, assuming he was getting enough protein and doing the right things — but the scale wasn’t moving in the right direction, and he constantly felt stuck.
Before we started working together, what were you struggling with?

What were your top goals?
“To get lean and strong.”
Straightforward. But not easy — especially when you’re juggling training with real life, old habits, and conflicting nutrition advice.
What’s been the biggest transformation?
“Discipline and consistency — especially with my training. I’ve lost 3kg of fat and I’m far more aware of how my dietary choices impact energy, recovery, and performance. Oh — and I’m now acutely aware of fibre!”
That last one always makes me smile. The nutrition wins that stick aren’t just aesthetic — they’re about mindset, control, and energy. And that’s what Ken’s nailed.

“Realising I don’t need to intermittent fast to lose fat. And I don’t need to go to bed hungry to get results.”
This mindset shift is massive — and one of the most freeing lessons any client can take away.
