How Sam Lost 10kg, Ran a Half Marathon and Rebuilt His Mindset Around Food

For years, Sam tried to lose weight on his own — but no matter what he did, he couldn’t shift more than 2–3kg. He knew something had to change. He wanted to get back to the shape and fitness he had in his mid-20s.

His original goal? To reach 90kg.

What he didn’t expect was to go even further.

Why Sam Reached Out

Sam was stuck in a cycle of “trying to be good,” losing a little bit of weight, then slipping back.He could cook well, but he didn’t have structure. No proper meal planning, no accountability, and a mindset that swung between being strict and “falling off the wagon.”

“As long as I ate some veg, I assumed I was doing fine — but I wasn’t actually following a plan. I didn’t understand how to fuel properly, and I had no one keeping me accountable.”

What He Wanted to Achieve

  • Get down to 90kg

  • Lose body fat around his stomach and chest

  • Improve overall fitness and energy

What Actually Happened

Sam didn’t just hit 90kg.He reached 86kg, got leaner, and then went on to do something he never believed he would:

  • Completed a half marathon — 16 minutes faster than his time from 10 years ago

  • Signed up for a triathlon

  • Rebuilt his training routine

  • Felt more confident in how his body looked and performed

  • Gained control over his eating — without feeling restricted

The Biggest Transformation? His Mindset

“The biggest change isn’t just the fat loss or fitness — it’s my head. I understand food now. I can plan meals, enjoy treats without guilt, and I don’t fall into ‘good vs bad’ thinking anymore.”

What Helped the Most

Sam said the tools were useful — but the weekly check-ins were the game changer.

“I looked forward to them every week. The guidance was spot on, but it’s the support and encouragement that made it a joy to be part of.”

Did He Reach His Goals?

“I’ve surpassed them. I’m around 86kg, I’m leaner, I’ve smashed a half marathon, and now I’m training for a triathlon. I never, ever thought I’d be doing this.”

Would He Recommend It?

His words — not mine:

“This will literally change your life. Even if you think you know nutrition — you don’t. You’ll learn so much.”

His Favourite Win

“The half marathon. I never thought I’d do one again — let alone take 16 minutes off my best time. I still can’t quite believe it.”

This is what happens when someone stops guessing, commits properly, and gets the right structure, accountability and support.
